Brothers
by The Black Keys is the sixth album from the Akron, OH-based duo, who've been seemingly everywhere over the last decade thanks to song appearances in everything from movies and HBO series to solo albums, side gigs, and collaborations. Brothers isn't a break from their massively minimalistic past, but instead further distills the group's sound down its basic elements of rock, R&B, and blues, with headbangin' results.

Sweet Thing, the five piece band from Toronto that you keep hearing about, are set to release their much anticipated full length debut album on EMI Music Canada on August 17, 2010.   Among their biggest fans is Canadian Television and Radio host George Stroumboulopoulos who raves, "As soon as I heard Sweet Thing I thought, this is the sound and band that we've all been waiting for!  I'm so excited for people to hear this album and I already can't wait for their next one."

The band are known for incredible live shows, great energy and their unique infectious pop sound with an edge.  In March, Billboard Magazine picked Sweet Thing as one of the 'Five Up and Coming Artists to Watch in Canada' and their recent Canadian Music Week performance received amazing response and reviews. Audiences out West should prepare for an unforgettable musical experience as the band kick-off eight dates starting on May 27 (details listed below).

Formed in 2004, by lead singer Owen Carrier and Alex Last (guitar, backing vocals), the band includes Nick Rose (guitar, vocals), Morgan Waters (bass, backing vocals) and Tyler Kyte (drums).  Sweet Thing recorded the debut album in Los Angeles with the help of veteran producer Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliot Smith, The Vines) and engineer Doug Boehm (Katy Perry, Fall Out Boy).

Their first single "Dance Mother" has just gone to radio and is available for free download (in both explicit and non-explicit versions) from the band's website at http://www.sweetthingmusic.com/dancemother/.  Meanwhile the video for "Dance Mother," which was directed by the award-winning Christopher Mills (best known for his video work for Modest Mouse, The Tragically Hip, The Secret Machines and Interpol), is getting amazing response online. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrhqVmDaj7I.

This past December, Sweet Thing performed on The Hour's Holiday Special, alongside artists such as Norah Jones, Metric and Michael Buble, and they have continued to make new fans while opening shows for artists including The Kooks, The Stills, Sam Roberts, Stars, The Arkells, Dragonette and Kate Nash.  Three band members already have impressive acting resumes and now four of the band will appear in the new Degrassi movie "D:NYC - Degrassi Takes Manhattan" which will air this summer on MuchMusic and TeenNick in the U.S.  The band appear singing an acapella version of their song "Change of Season."  Also on tap for the band is their very own mobile application. The Sweets app will be powered by Steam Republic Ltd. and available for free from the band's website shortly.  Stay tuned, as there are lots more exciting announcements to come from Sweet Thing in the coming months.
