ABOUT NIRVANA SAVOURY
Born in Toronto, Nirvana Savoury is a young starlet far from cookie cutter. Chinese Jamaican, with a passion for the performing arts, it seems that before Nirvana could walk, she could sing.
Nirvana Savoury launched her professional career in 2002 with the female trio X-Quisite (Linus/Warner). The group won such Canadian accolades as #1 Most Played Female Group in All Formats and Most Played Group A/C Radio; Best New Artist (2002) – Urban Music Awards of Canada and Best New Artist (2002) – Canadian Radio Awards; and a Juno nomination for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year (2003). As a solo artist Savoury has worked with Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Midi Mafia, and recently the Godfather
of House music/Grammy nominated Bob Sinclar.
In 2008 Savoury launched her single “Chickn n Waffles” featuring Midi Mafia in 2008. The single was added to 40 crossover radio stations across the U.S., and Canada and lead her to share the stage with Rock N Roll Hall of Famer, Dave Mason and play the historic Carnegie Hall. Her exploits have not gone unnoticed, even the New York Post has chronicled her rise to stardom.
Based in the US for a number of years, Nirvana is looking to 'come home' and really focus her energy on the place it all started- Toronto. Known for her bold character, Nirvana will definitely live up to the expectations of all of the fans who have been waiting for her return.
